It will take a special type of leadership to really turn this puppy around, and we don't have it. We have an AD learning on the job who seems to be treading water most the time and that doesn't help.
We need leaders like Alan Knipe not caretakers.
I have seen one bit of hope, seems the engineering department and hopefully business admin and the school in general is creating a tie in to the whole 'Space Beach' theme going on in Long Beach which should be a fixture for a generation or more and its pretty exciting.

I will keep banging this drum. Athletics needs to get on board with this. Develop ties even if its slow and steady. These firms all loaded up with venture capital and lots of business if not showing much of a profit yet but once they do, if the ties are already developed with athletics, that is where some investments might come in.
We've got a 10 year reprieve, maybe, with the Pyramid with the $8 million we got from the credit union. Maybe the next iconic building for sports and student fitness programming has something to do with Space Beach. Make the building look like the moon, or a launch facility, or something space age and build a bunch of unique aspects into it.
Dream big, but unfortunately we seem to have regressed to 'keep it functioning' mentality.

I just purchased my women's basketball tickets. I am sitting at 112 A1 again. Bob Schillers and Karen Schillers old seats. I miss them!
I held back on the men's because I am not sure of the bench seating any more . I had 116 A 13 I think.
Any suggestions??
Hard to make it to games living in Bakersfield. But I support the teams!
