Not Cat/Dog/Pet related, but I know that several the members here are of or close to retirement age. I wanted to make sure you saw this before the 28th.

If you are 62 or older and have not yet purchased a lifetime senior pass to our national parks, you may want to do that now.

Starting on August 28, 2017, the price of the Senior lifetime senior pass covering all national parks is going up from $10 to $80. If you purchase before August 28th, you can still get the $10 pass that is good for life. There is a $10 processing fee, so your total cost is $20.

The pass covers your (and anyone in your car with you) entrance and standard amenity (day-use) recreation fees and provide discounts on some expanded amenity recreation fees (like camping). Lifetime Senior Passes provide access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by six federal agencies:

National Park Service
US Fish & Wildlife Service
Bureau of Land Management
Bureau of Reclamation
US Forest Service
US Army Corps of Engineers

You can purchase the pass online, in person, or by mail. The easiest way is through the Your Pass Now web site. If Your Pass Now cannot verify your eligibility, you can still purchase a pass online through the USGS web site. You will need proof of age - a copy of your Driver's License or Passport (think smart phone picture).
