What Is “The Secret Santa Holiday Gift Exchange?”

Every year a few of us from the various boards do a small gift exchange during the holidays. Please note that the gift exchange is completely separate from the card exchange, which is normally run by someone else.

Basically, the way it works is -- after everyone who is interested signs up, everyone gets matched up with their own Secret Santa. Someone will be your Secret Santa and you will be Secret Santa to someone else.

While I try to keep it the matching as random as possible, I will make some adjustments to the assignments so that folks do not end up with a “repeat” Secret Santa, if possible.

Part of the fun is trying to guess who your Secret Santa is. In theory. In practice, most people end up finding out who their Secret Santa was by the end of the holidays.

Lastly, my apologies in advance if parts of the "First Time Participants - A Must Read Before Signing Up" section come across as heavy-handed. Over the years people have been stood up three times; I do not want there to be a fourth time. So, thank you for your understanding.
