My Lily Rose DeWinter is gone

I said goodbye to my Lily girl on Saturday. She has been losing weight and was down to 5 lbs. Saturday morning, while putting her eye drops in, she cried out if pain. She's been blind (cataracts/glaucoma) for about two years. Earlier this year she developed an ulcer on one eye (she couldn't blink one eye due to nerve damage). It is the first time she has ever done that. At 17, and as frail as she had become, I wasn't going to put her through anything else. My vet had a late morning opening and I was able to take her in. Her passing was gentle and I stayed with her, stroking her little head and telling how much she was loved. I am at peace with the decision to let her go. I have lost 3 kitties in three months, plus Fred crossed the Bridge last year. Our household has gone from 15 furbabies to 11. I have a house full of senior kitties, so I knew it would be happening. I just never expected to lose so many so close together. M
