Our beautiful and most loving friend Bobbie Coker has now met all her Angel friends at The Rainbow Bridge.
She was one of my oldest "cat people" friends, meeting on the old Acme Cat's Window so many years ago, what 16 or 17 years ago, probably more. She was one of the finest women I've ever known, and like many of you, she taught me so much.
I'll miss her posts and photos, her campaign to help with possums which always brought a smile to my face. Bobbie radiated love, in person (on the phone) and online. I sent her a card which she got this past Tuesday. She messaged me on FB and we talked about how did we ever wear high heels? And that, like me, she preferred boots to shoes. I'll be forever grateful that that last card got to her *tears*
This evening René Coker texted me at 11:05 PM her time to let me know Bobbie has passed away. A few hours before she had told me that Bobbie's strength was fading and Bobbie could only nod and smile. The Doctors had given her 6 months (that was 1 month ago), but its only been 2 weeks since I spoke with her, after she had settled in with René, and we talked about dying. She was determined not to worry about her 2 cats that had moved with her, Gracie and Jazimine. Malichi, her beloved Malichi, has gone to a good home and that was one less worry. Gracie and Jazimine have stayed by her and loved her every hour and comforted her. Bobbie was not afraid of death, of dying. Her faith in God was strong and told me how at peace she was. I'm certain she is greeting all her friends at The Rainbow Bridge as I type this.
René will post more in a few days, she asked me to let everyone know. I'll post this on Bobbie's page as well in case you see it twice.
For you dear Bobbie:
When somebody dies, a cloud turns into
an angel, and flies up to tell God
to put another flower on a pillow.
A bird gives the message back to
the world, and sings a silent prayer
that makes the rain cry. People dis-
appear, but they never really go away.
The spirits up there put the sun to
bed, wake up grass, and spin the
earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you
can see them dancing in a cloud during
the day-time, when they're supposed
to be sleeping. They paint the rain-
bows and also the sunsets and make
waves splash and tug at the tide.
They toss shooting stars and listen to
wishes. And when they sing wind-
songs, they whisper to us, don't
miss me too much. The view is nice
and I'm doing just fine.
