I have some bald patches in my lawn (not ONLY due to the drought) and yesterday we got a sprinkle or two of rain so I dashed out and bought some grass seed and a large bag of compost.
The instructions were to rake, make "drills' 1/4 in. deep, sow seed, cover with compost and rake again and then trample it in firmly. Well I wasn't about to get on my knees and make "drills" so I raked, scattered, composted, raked and then trampled. I have to admit the trampling part was the most tiring, I had to go in twice and have a little "rest". We are SUPPOSED to get some more rain next week - not much I think but lets see if the grass grows.
Mr D "helped" by trying to eat some of the compost!
