Subject: Thank you from the Friends of the Rutherford Library
July 5, 2018
Dear Friend of the Library,
The Trustees of the Friends and the entire staff of the Rutherford Public Library wish to thank you for your generous donation in memory of our good friend, Sheila Hickey. She was a strong supporter of many causes and is missed greatly.
The Rutherford Library has been a valuable resource for our town for more than a century. With the recent changes in the Library configuration and reduction of staff , the Library increasingly depends on the Friends of the Library of Rutherford - supporters like you – to step in to help. The funds we raise through our membership drive, raffles, book sales, and other special events provide an array of programs and library services for our entire community. Many of the current children’s programs would not be possible without the help of the Friends and donors like you.
The Library has finished reconstruction efforts this year and the main floor has been reopened. With the new look on the main floor and increased computer service, we, The Friends of the Library of Rutherford, count on your help as much as ever. Last spring we had our 3rd Edible Book Festival on March 21, followed by our book sale on April 28-29 which was held again in October. All were a great success and brought in much-needed funds to help the Library continue with the wide variety of programs and services it offers.
We invite you to join us as an active member of the Friends; the opportunities to get involved are as numerous as they are enjoyable. To find out how you can participate, please contact Linda Rynd, President of the Friends of the Library of Rutherford, at 201-456-1897, or e-mail her at: lrynd50@aol.com .
Once again, thank you very much. It’s always good to have more “Friends”!
Sincerely,
Thomas P. Bivin Corresponding Secretary
