We got the report from Ondesterpoort (I should explain that this is our huge Vet University up in Pretoria). It was still nothing fully diagnosed other than it appeared to be a slow growing mass.
I went for a Specialist Vet consult a few days later. We had a very long consult, going through everything possible, including Radiation and Amputation; his age; etc.
The conclusion was and the vet advised (and I already had this scenario in my head) that we do nothing yet. I will take him back in about 3 months time for further radiographs and then they can be compared and we can get a more solid idea as to how quickly or slowly (Please God) this thing is growing. I have him on CBD oil and am continuing to walk him, throw his balls and ropes and generally being "normal"
Mr D has no idea there is anything wrong with him and he is giving me strength to be as"normal" as I can for him. The Specialist Vet was impressed by his condition for a 10 1/2 yr old dog of his size, said his musculature and conformation were extremely good.
For now - we wait.
