For my Steve. He suddenly had big issues eating, and cries out and twists his head horrible while he's crying. Sometimes it's when he eats, sometimes when he drinks, sometimes for no reason.
I had an appointment for next Wednesday with my vet to look him over and do dental if needed. But I couldn't wait, so I took him in today (saw a different vet, mine not there).
They were going to lightly sedate him and look around and see if they could see anything. They did check him in the room with me beforehand and he had huge tartar build ups in the back. So when they took him away, they took those off. Without sedation, said he was fine doing that. Steve is over 16 so I really didn't want to put him under unless no choice. So thought that was good news! Gave me Clavamox. And said give it a few days to see if it helps.
But he's still cried and shook his head later today. Unless it's due to a sore or something in his mouth from rubbing on that tartar thing, and it may need time to heal. I hope so.
Anyway, got an appointment for next Wednesday anyway, switched his to another kitty with IBD, losing more weight. But if need be I'll take Steve in instead.
Say a prayer that I don't need to and that this all heals in a few days.
Also say a prayer for my friend, who I mentioned in Valerie's post. She had very major surgery and has some complications from it. She's in the hospital. I'm caring for their dog, unless her husband comes home from the hospital (it's a long distance away).
She can certainly use prayers. So send some for both her and my Steve. Thanks.
Isn't there a dental rinse that is sort of antibiotic? If it is the poor dentition that is bothering him, perhaps flushing out the mouth with that rinse would help...ask the doctors...at least it could not hurt, right? Purrayers going out...
