around me. The neighbor kiddy corner and across the street, has about 70 sheep (does nothing with them, just keeps them as pets for the most part).
Well, I got a call from my friend who lives across from her and she told me that the neighbor lost a couple lambs last night. I heard the coyotes last night quite close and said "Coyotes?"
She said "no, someone came and shot them and gutted them and took them away". Idiots! I should have figured it wasn't coyotes, why not suspect HUMANS first! Makes much more sense. They found gun shells by the remains I guess.
Poor little lambs, they were born in April. Must be someone who *knows* what's going on there. Strange, they lost one last year the same way. She had cameras up, but took them down. Well, they are up again. She doesn't live on the property, as the house there is under reconstruction. She lives just down the road for temporarily while this is going on. Though they could sneak in and do this anyway it's all open land all around.
Say a prayer for these poor little babies. They could have had a full life as she doesn't send them off to slaughter. But instead someone is eating them anyway.
I doubt they'll find the idiots, but I sure hope they do and they torture them.
That's one of the scary things about livestock animals - there's really no choice but to keep them in essentially very unprotected environments, and the bad elements out there know that.
I'm sorry for your neighbor's loss. I hope her cameras work and they can put a stop to this. (Sounds like the person might have known she took the cameras down, doesn't it?)

that it was the mexicans who work (or someone affiliated with them) at the mink farm. (no offense to all mexicans...just saying that there are mexican workers there. AND...they LOVE to eat goat and sheep. Also, the mink farm by the way, is right across the street from the sheep. They can see if there's newborns out there or not, and they can easily get access. They also know when no one is there or not and when the lady leaves for the night. So convenient. And kinda away from everything too. they'd be able to monitor what goes on there too.
Guess the lady called the mink farm and talked to the owner, but naturally it didn't do any good. I'm sure she called the police I would think too.
Just terrible. Very sad.
