I have to have chemo.There is one small area that could cause a problem.Im not complaining though,Im alive.Gonna go eat and will post more later.

I have not been here for awhile, just busy with summer and so on. But I wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for all you are going through. I believe in miracles, my husband is one of them after all he went through, and I am praying for the same for you. Keep strong in your trust in God. He will help you in it all. the dreaded diarrhea.My digestive system was re arranged and doesn't quite what to do with food.The Dr said it will get better over time.

not that I am a chemo expert, but I am a big fan of erring on the side of caution - and it sounds like your doctors agree.

I know that its 24 treatments.I see the oncologist on the 24th and will let you know.I hope I dont lose my hair.

that was definitely one of the worst parts, but it was reassuring that the "carpet bombing" was obliterating every rapidly dividing cell.

24 seems a lot - I wonder if it will be weekly and/or a combo. While both of my regimens took around six months, some were weekly, some bi-weekly (and then the fun of radiation).

I guess I should start looking for hats,wigs and scarves.Its always best to be prepared.

I didn't lose my hair with my second protocol. Ironically, it included the same drug (Adriamycin) which is one of the most notorious for hair loss - however, in a different form, called Doxil. Because it is metabolized differently, it avoids most of the worst side effects, yet is highly toxic to cancer cells!

I just want the cancer gone...msg

My mother had chemo for the same area. The doctor explained that kind doesn't make you lose your hair.
Hope you get through this rough patch well!

Your post is encouraging....

and gives me hope that my cats wont think they have been adopted by a bald stranger.

(and it actually really upset me at the time) when I came home one day and took off my wig. I wouldn't say my cats freaked out exactly, but let's just say their reaction didn't do great things for my ego/self-esteem. I didn't think that they paid attention to such things!

The upside and funny part is that Ali, in particular, took to sleeping on my head from that point. It was so cute - and she continued long after my hair grew back. The unfortunate part was that with my horrific night sweats, I would wake up with my formerly bald head completely covered in cat fur stuck to it!
