Will still be here. Been so many years, would be a shame if it wasn't. Like I mentioned before, we should all make a concentrated effort to post, any little thing. Pictures of our cats or what went on with them.,, and Sheila we love hearing about you and Mr D, or your place etc.

Let's see if we can get this place going again being it is still here for us.

I think this is a great place. Just because the age of social media has advanced does not mean this board has to go it is the mainstay of what it's all about. Yes it tends to get slow at times but that does not mean it's not appreciated! This place has given me a way to sound off and seek support.

I don't recall how much the cost is per year, but I would gladly make a contribution if others want to help out and keep it running. I don't post much, but I hate to see it end, too.

Clarification

Hopefully Da Adminisplatter can jump in here and clarify, but it's my understanding that the board can continue without payment, it just won't be ad-free. As far as I know, the payment just keeps the ads out, but is not necessary for the board's existence.

I should have checked my notes and the Acme Fund before posting the renewal notice, because technically there were enough contributions the last time around to just about pay for another year's term. (There was still a remaining balance from donations to the Fund which were not intended for board rent. But since the Fund has become virtually inactive, I could tap into that reserve).

So, technically, we don't need any more contributions to renew for another year, and I will do so, but just leave the post up for a while as a reminder and welcome further discussion in this thread! (Hey, at least it is prompting some activity, lol)

If we put it in the Acme Fund instead of paying Boardhost directly, then you can pool the donations and get a better price on more months for the money.

since I am not notified when anyone else purchases a term directly. Happened a couple of years ago - I was waiting/hoping for more contributions, worried about the deadline, and was unaware that someone had already purchased a term. That's why I removed the link to do so in my post, but of course anyone can still do it!

i think we must just work herder to keep it going. I come here almost every day but nothing happens and, since I don't have cats anymore, I don't post a lot. But I love this Board
