Had some great news from my oncologist today...msg

Last week I had CT scans of my chest,abdomen and pelvic region,there are no new tumors anywhere.Also Im no longer anemic and my white blood cell count is up.I feel a happy dance coming on.

Having both your red and white cell count messed up can really make you feel miserable. I bet you're feeling a lot better now that they're more in normal ranges.

And that's excellent news about the tumors. Happy dance, indeed!

so glad you seem to be clear. Getting older always brings more Dr's it seems. Today I have to go to my GP to have a "thing" removed from my face, In a couple of weeks it's my Diabetic doctor, then I have to see the Dentist.... it never ends. LOL I also need to get a mammo amd a bone density set up....... the joys.

I must organise all of this befoe I set off on my Arctic adventure

when I was 70 I treated myself to an Antarctic trip on a small boat, leaving from Ushaia in Argentina, and now I am doing the same with a trip to the Arctic for my 80th. I leave in June, fly from Heathrow to Norway and then onto Svaalbard to pick up the boat. Looking forward to it and am going (again) with my youngest daughter Lynne.

and yesterday I had a pap smear and a once over from my GYN doctor.I think its funny that I never gave much thought to how many body parts I have until I needed to have them all seen or tested.

I still have to see my caddiologist and eye doctor this month.Never a dull moment.

As soon as I woke up,he told me what he found.I started crying and several nurses gathered around me and said everything would be ok,not to worry.I said Im not worried about me,Im worried about my ferals.Im sure they thought I was a cat lady or at the very least,just plain crazy.

In 3 months I get to do the tests and scans all over again but Im so thankful to have so many great doctors and nurses looking after me.

BTW,I read a stoty that a woman wrote about having a mamogran.Thats where I learnd about getting your mammys grammed.

with my cancer history and genetic predisposition, I am now recognized as having an elevated risk of all sorts of fun things. Plus, the collateral damage from chemo and radiation X 2 on top of normal "aging", really made me aware of the sheer number of body party and internal systems I have.

I applaud the term - never thought about gramming mammies before, but I like the sound of it. I usually just say I'm getting my boobs squished

I had advanced colon cancer.The tomor grew very fast and protruded into my stomach and caused a huge abscess.The abscess is the reason that part of my stomach was removed.I didn't have one symptom,just felt a lump one day.

How are you doing? I couldn't post while you were having chemo but I prayed.

Damn...hate the sound of that...msg

I'm doing ok, thanks. Active surveillance. Permanent fatigue
