giving Mr D. a good brush out and all of his soft undercoat the birds just love. I leave it on the grass for them and I can hear them chirruping loudly now - letting each other know its there.

Brushing him is one of the things he doesn't really like much so I have to do him in "batches". Today was rear legs and sides, tomorrow Neck, chest and front legs. Tail NEVER!!! so I pluck it out when he is sleeping on the couch next to me.

He is the most peculiar GSD I have ever had.

He's one special guy! I know what you mean about tons of fur. Some of our older cats have such heavy undercoats, it's impossible to get it all out. Sometimes I think I should just shave them.

Jenny is one of them. So much fur, and then it gets clumps. I have started to just chop it off with scissors in spots. I don't know how she'd take to electrip clippers. She's kinda like Mr. D in some ways.

the birds would never touch the cat fur - I always found that odd.
