After discussion about what we could do in memory of our dear Sheila Hickey (aka Sweeney) it was decided to make a donation in her memory to the three non-profits she loved: Friends of the Rutherford Library, the Humane Society of Bergen County, and the Rutherford Community Food Pantry.
Since we are primarily cat (dog, and other animals) lovers, many expressed a preference of a weighted split, with 80% going to the Humane Society of Bergen County and 10% each going to Friends of the Rutherford Library and the Rutherford Community Food Pantry.
This will be from all the boards and groups: Acme House of Cats, Black Cat Café, Benny’s Cat Boards, and the BCC/AHOC Facebook Group.
In order to give everyone ample time to donate, the donation period will be for the next 4 weeks through end of day Tuesday May 22 (May 21 being a Canadian holiday).
The Acme Fund uses a PayPal account and the email address to use is: acmecat@optonline.com
Please select “Friends and Family” or “Gift” or whatever PayPal calls it these days so that the full donation goes into the Acme Fund. If you send it as a purchase/payment PayPal takes a 3% fee.
