i am here with some awful news msg

My boy - my wonderful Darick - has been diagnosed with a tumour below his elbow. His xrays have gone off to a Prof at Ondersterpoort (our only Vet University) and I won't hear anything till after Monday. It looks like there might have to be a bone sample (which is awful) and then I don't know. I am a mess. I am now feeding him a full raw diet (he was on half raw) and I am obtaining some CBD oil. I am a total mess and can't stop crying.

no nothing further. I will ring my vets tomorrow - late afternoon - this living in limbo is hell. the only thing is Mr D is completely oblivious and is acting his usual self, wanting to play ropes and ball. I still take him for his walk but I do not throw his toy far now i just toss if for him. He is taking his CBD oil like a champ - just licks it off my hand. Thank you for the prayers they are needed.

Cannabis oil and he is now fully on raw food - I was giving him breakfast of raw and supper of kibble. He is only in intermittent pain and that when he limps. Unfortunately I have had to stop his favourite pastime - ball and rope throwing. He will still get his walks. Please pray it can be benign

Continued exercise is one of the best things you can do for him (at a level he can handle, of course!).

I've got everything crossed that can be crossed for "BENIGN!"

My heart is breaking for you. I can only imagine what you’re going through. I’d be worried about a bone biopsy too. Will that be definitive? Can they aspirate the tumor instead? Or check bloodwork? I’d ask if there were less invasive options.
It may be a benign tumor, that’s hampering his walk. Unless it’s spread to the bone, it’s not near organs. So he will be ok for along time. Let’s think of the positive possibilities.
Darick sure looks healthy, you care for him so well. You are not going to lose him for a while. And maybe not at all if it’s nothing.
Take care of yourself, Darick needs his mom. I will be praying really hard for you both.

I had a feeling there was a reason you hadn't been posting. I'm so sorry to hear this was it.

Try not to think of the bone sample as awful. It will give you more information, and that is a good thing.

You're taking very good care of your boy. But then, I wouldn't expect anything less because you're such a good Mom!
