How is everyone doing with staying at home? What are your cats' reactions? msg

Mine are grousing that Mom sleeps in until 8am...so they get fed later...but they like having me at home...they get their midday kibble on time. What have your cats reacted to?
For the first month, they insisted that I kept to "work hours"... msg
They made sure that I was fully up, out of bed, tending to their needs. But they did seem a bit surprised to wake up from naps throughout the day and see me there.
Interestingly, for the first few weeks when I was working from home, they actually left me alone for hours after the morning routine, choosing to sleep in the other room. Of course, the minute I was on a conference call or in an online meeting, they would be in my face, blocking the monitor, etc.
As my schedule had become less and less structured, they definitely love the idea of my being available to join them for afternoon naps. They never practice social distancing.
I can't imagine sheltering in place without them!!
It would be hard to do without our cats, I agree...nm
In addition to working from home, my schedule (previously planned) changed from night shift to a day/afternoon shift. Almost every night there is a party going on in the cats bedroom! A lot of thumping and bumping that I don't know if it happened when I left for work previously or if it's new. They do seem to enjoy having me around all the time and thankfully this will continue for probably several more months.
I'm in no hurry to get back, as I work non-clinical in a hospital. We did just get our hours cut by 20 percent for ten weeks to offset fiscal losses. That's kind of nice too, as the weather is starting to get better. More time gardening and in the pool!!

of the virus is being away from the grandkids. We Face time with our 2 year old granddaughter every day. It’s something at least but I’d love to hug her. As her mom carried the phone, and her baby brother yesterday, she put the phone in her pocket. Quinn started calling “grandma! grandpa! Are you there? Phone was on speaker and I said, yes sweetie! We’re in your moms pocket!
Realized how stupid that sounded. Who knows what she thinks. She may think we’re locked in the phone somehow, with the little video screen. Heartbreaking. But we laugh and sing together with her every day and she shows us all her stuffed animals. And especially the kitty ones. We show her the cats and she kisses the phone screen for them.
The cats are fine, I’ve been home several years and Dave retired last July. They like us around. We’re glad we have them too, especially during these times.
This virus is horrible. One of our very good friends caught the virus from work, where dave retired from. Thank God Dave doesn’t work there now. He’s in the hospital, and it’s hitting home and very real to us now. He’s doing better but has pneumonia. He was in bad shape before they took him in. Blood in stool, stomach pain. That was from the virus they say now, but they kept dismissing. Went to another hospital days later and they admitted him. He’s weak, and has a little trouble breathing but much better and not in pain now. He was upbeat yesterday when Dave called him. His wife is at home. She has bad MS. And is very worried. They could use prayers. Bottom line, Keep inside folks, this is not a little issue. Be safe! And use the extra time to love on your pets/kitties.
Tell him to hang in there....and a reminder...wash hands! nm
Darick likes having me home 24/7. I do 10 laps of my garden every day. Most days Darick gets a walk on his treadmill. Because of the cancer in his leg I do not make it too vigorous. He is eating well, still wanting to play. If he wasn't here I wold go mad.
I have ventured out twice to get medications, but we are still in full lockdown. Once I wanted to go out and my battery in the car was flat, Very kindly two neighbors got me going.
Other than that .....boring.....Cats are like Potato Chips - you can't have just one
Yeah, don't know what I would do with out my furkids...nm
