I could not deal with being without an animal to love so here is Pixie. She was born and bred to be a bomb and drug detection dog BUT she didn't come up to scratch, so she lived her whole life of 20 months in a kennel. I am glad she "failed" the training course, as otherwise she would have been sold off to countries like Libya, Iran or Afghanistan.
I still miss Darick so much and she will never replace him but I think we can help each other. She is a very sweet little girl - and I do mean little - she is not much more than half of Darick's size, however, that's good for me as it means I can handle her without too much effort.
She wasn't even potty trained, but last night (her 2nd) the house was dry and clean this morning, so we are getting on top of that. She came via a VERY long road trip from Pretoria to Cape Town, almost 1500 kms. She was smelly so she was immediately whipped off to my friend Angie for a bath so all in all she had a very traumatic 24hrs.
