I only come sporadically too. Cats are like Potato Chips - you can't have just one
Hi Di! Great to "see" you ...nm

I miss the old days, too. I despise Facebook for what it did to communities like this used to be.
How are things with you?
We're doing ok...

Still having problems melding Mookie in with the other 3.It will be 2 years in Aug. We've never encountered anything like this before. But we keep trying.

Those are some stubborn kitties! Hopefully it's just an uneasy truce and not all-out war!
My two are keepin' on keepin' on. Sara turns 16 in July and has been seeing a chiropractor for her decreasing mobility in her hips. I would like to avoid going straight to pain medications, especially since I hope she will be with me for a while yet.
At first I was skeptical that a chiropractic approach would be effective for a cat (stressed out in a strange place and all that) but it has actually been very effective. After just one visit she went back to walking with a very normal stride and is again able to jump up onto beds and couches without falling back. (I've also put thick yoga mats next to her most frequent "jumping down spots" to minimize impact to her shoulders which the chiropractor reminded me are also affected as she gets older.) I'm going to continue with it as long as I see results, and I'm guessing it doesn't really cost any more than having her on ongoing pain meds would (and much less invasive to her system!).
Kira continues to be a silly girl. When I'm trying to get dressed in the morning, she gets on the bed and then stands up with her front paws against me (sort of like a dog jumping up on you) and stands there "hugging" me like that. It's cuter than all get-out, but REALLY slows me down when I'm trying to get ready for work! Does anyone else have a cat that does that?
Pichie used to supervise my morning routine...msg

coming into the bathroom and making sure I did everything correctly. Now Mira and Ziba will follow me into the bathroom to make sure I use the "facilities" correctly...like I really need supervisors... Ya gotta love them, though.
Me too...welcome back...post more often...nm
