Re: Message for Michael
Yes, we have been on GSH since about 9 months old. I think GSH plays a key role in maintaining normal health. I think the testament to that was the first year of pre-school. Getting over cold after cold. (My CF clinic thought that I must have mistaken the colds for allergy - but no! sometimes another family member would catch it too...)Up to that time I kept my child out of social situations because I was afraid of illness - then all that exposure came in pre-school. Basically, getting over things like a normal kid is amazing for a CF kid. We needed antibiotics once during that time. The "cold" came on in a different way than the others - right into the chest. The cough was really wet and at night too. I did go to herbs first but then got nervous and went with abx (oral cipro). That took care of it. In hindsight my Cf clinic told me there was an outbreak of RSV (!) in Los Angeles just about the time I called in.... Bacteria and virus take advantage of weakness. For CF the gut and lungs are vulnerable. We know that yeast likes GSH, but even w/o GSH pwCF are prime targets for yeast. (And it is just what you don't need - inflammation making absorption worse) It is really overlooked. Probably in the general population too... I kept (and will keep) GSH through yeast treatment. I plan to beat back yeast by getting the Ph, good bacteria and yeast-fighting enzymes right...
