We give to our daughter one or two daily doses of lactobacyllus GG, the brand used by the Italian team that found that probiotics reduce inflammation in CF. The abstract has been published here in the past. We've noticed an improvement in her health using probiotics. Moreover we use prokinetic drugs and H2 inhibitors that, I don't want to deceive myself, seems to make a great difference. About two-three months ago she started to develop a bad cough. After a month or so we've tried to adjust doses of these drugs (we were using a lower dose, not enough for her weight) and the cough started to get better. Coincidence ? Or maybe lung health is related to GI tract health more than we are used to think ? Thank you for this abstract summary, Hope. |
