Yes, we do liver tests every 2 years. Our boys are delF508 homozygotes, and boys with that mutation profile are at special risk for elevated liver enzymes (which may or may not lead to liver disease). Of course, the boys have been on GSH since their earliest days. The boys' liver enzymes are somewhat elevated, but the doctor said they would have to be much more elevated before they would worry about liver disease. We do have them on Choline supplements, as well as lecithin with each meal. We also use the Bile Acids supplement made by Jarrow (kind of a non-prescription Urso). We saw a wonderful difference in their stools with these 3 additions to their regimen. (And choline also indirectly helps GSH synthesis!)
We have no way of knowing, but we do get the feeling their liver enzymes might be much higher if we weren't using GSH, given they are males with delF508/delF508. Michael is right that GSH is one of the greatest things you can do to slow down or stop fibrotic liver disease.
