Hmmm. Yes and no. In CF, the liver responds to the deficit of GSH (due to lack of efflux from CFTR) by sending out much of its GSH into the bloodstream. Of course, over time, this puts the liver at risk. Things that would raise blood GSH would help CF persons. However, it appears that this patch does not add GSH itself, but some ingredients that must increase synthesis. Your doctor is right that increasing synthesis is not very helpful, because of the efflux problem.
