My 20 month old son has CF and has so far been very healthy as far as his lungs go. Our main worry has been poor weight gain. We are hoping GSH can help.
We have recently started giving him oral GSH - only a very small dose to start with - it's impossible to measure accurately, just a sprinkle really, 3 times a day. However, it is not always easy to get him to take it. Is it okay to mix with food or juice? He seems to know whenever we really want him to take something, and just refuses - but I figure a little bit sometimes is better than nothing. Any tips from parents of toddlers?
We also intend to start nebulised GSH soon. I'm confused about what water to use. Is distilled water the same as demineralised water? That's what the chemist told me, but I'm not sure that demineralised water is necessarily sterile. Does anyone know? We are in Australia, so I don't know if the same terms are used overseas.
Our doctor has said it's fine to use GSH, but he's not terribly interested in it, so I don't want to bother him with these questions.
Thanks,
Liisa
