Thanks for responding Hope. Yes, he has type 1, NOT cfrd. It's just by some strange quirk he has ended up with cf and now type 1 diabetes. They have tested him for the immune cells or whatever it is to do with the Beta cell response and he has type 1. We found out he had it in December, when I noticed the classic symptoms and ofcourse thought he had cfrd. There isnt any auto immune diseases in our family that we know of, so it came as qhite a shock. Anyhow, he is now insulin dependent and has an insulin pump (was on four injections a day). The pump is fantastic, the clinic got a grant for it. His BGL is quite stable with the pump and remaining in the target range. He has been quite well cf wise.
