if fluoroquinolones increase ROS in the pulmonary ELF, the lack of GSH could be a problem greater than the reduced activity of antibiotics in presence of GSH.
If I'm not wrong a normal ELF is rich in GSH, where a CF ELF is very depleted in GSH. So adding GSH through inhalation should at very best restore a normal GSH concentration, i.e. a normal behavior of antibiotics. Moreover, the GSH seems to have some antibiotic activity.
These are all reasons that makes me believe that the Chinese study, an in vitro study, is not a bad news for us.
However we don't know if the Chinese and Indian studies are reliable.
