the weight loss may have to do with it regulating the persons body functions back to normal, eg metabolism, thyroid function etc. Its a great fat for anyone as long as you can absorb it well. I add it melted to my sons smoothies eg banana, fruit juice, berries, avocardo, almond meal, rice milk or what ever you choose to put in there, I use about 2-3 tsp per time, he is 7. I also add in there vit C and powered kelp for iodine as we we do not use iodised salt instead sea salt on food. Coconut oil has many many good properties, I like the anti fungal aspect esp with all the antibiotics our kids take over their lives. Just take a diary of all new things that you add to your childs diet/life and you will get a clearer picture.
