I have cultured Aspergillus for a few years on and off. I had an allergy test for it and it was negative. Therefore, my doctor told me the treatment was not necessary. From what I remember, it was at least 6 months of medication. Aspergillus is everywhere in the environment, so, there is no telling where I got it from.
To answer your question about the value of GSH, I still think it is necessary and beneficial to my own health. I take a lesser dose than the "protocol dose" for my weight, but I have pft's in the 90's. Before GSH, I was in the low to mid 80's. I hope you are not getting discouraged because it is not a "cure all" for the disease. I can imagine how frustrating CF must be for the parents.... Know that it is necessary for your child's health and you are replacing something that her body makes for itself. I have always viewed GSH as a necessary supplement like our other vitamins.
I am not sure how many members were part of this board, but, I know that I don't visit this site as frequently as other CF resources because I "forget". With other sites, I receive emails and it is more on top of my mind. I am not saying this one should change, just offering a possible explanation for the absence of posts lately. I too have noticed the lack of posts.
If you look at my posts from the pasts few months, I just recently started inhaling 200mg per day and feel soooo much better than after I did anything the doctor recommended or prescribed.
I do blame GSH for my current sprained ankle. GSH has me feeling so well that I am exercising again and landed wrong. Haha. I am kidding of course, but, I do have more energy in the last few months and it has coincided with me getting back on the GSH train. . I am anxious for this sprain to heal so I can get back to exercising!
Let us know what kind of questions or discussions you want to have.., I think we are still here .... Just lurking.
Warmly,
