Thanks for your post - I think it's good to keep questioning what we're doing.
Our story is that we used GSH for about a year, but have been off it for another year now. I don't have a clear reason why we stopped, partly just uncertainty about whether it was helping (my son was doing fine on it, but is fine off it too!) and also reading more into the science of CF and feeling like it must be more complicated that simply replacing a compound that the body is lacking. How do we know the right amount? How do we know it gets to the right places and stays out of other places? I am watching the research eagerly and hoping for more conclusive evidence.
One thing I have learnt from online CF forums is that what works wonderfully for one person may nor work at all for another, and in some cases can even be detrimental. That's important to keep in mind when reading success stories on the web - always pay closest attention to how your daughter is doing, regardless of anyone else. I know it's not always easy, with so many variables.
I have read some things which suggest that GSH is not good to use with fungal infections as it can 'feed' them, or something. Not sure where I read that, but it would be worth looking into - just be careful. Maybe someone here knows more about that?
All the best to you and everyone here,
Lisa
