I have recently taken Archie off his asthma preventor, Flixotide, as I like to give him a break off it and he has been quite well this winter. EVery time I take him off it his lungs seem to get a little inflammed and productive. I am dropping off a sputum sample tomorrow just to make sure we are not growing anything but just wondered if that is normal, or a sign that he should stay on it? I would prefer him to be able to come off it for a while if possible. Anybody have any insight on this? He doesn't get asthma but does get wheezy sometimes when he gets a virus. Could this just be his lungs adjusting to not being on the steriod? When he is on it and well, his lungs sound very clear. Just don't want it to effect growth etc.
Look forward to hearing from you
