Today was my 3 year old sons first visit back to the doctor since he started the GSH. First of all his oxygen saturation was 99%. It hasn't been this high since he was about 1 1/2 years old. At his last visit we had to get him to take deep breaths just to get it up to 96%. This time as soon as she put it on his finger it registered 99%. Next was his x-rays. He has had great improvement since his last x-rays. Those lungs are looking good!!!! His weight gain is only a pound since his last visit but he had grown 2 inches in height. His doctor seemed just thrilled with his growth. He is now in the 45th percentile....he started out in the 5th!! I really don't know all the technical terms for all of this...just trying to describe the best way I can. I could tell that his doctor was impressed at how great he is doing. He asked about the GSH and how much I give him. He asked me to bring it to the next visit. He has an awesome doctor who seems open to new things. I am thankful for that. We also got fitted for a vest...FINALLY!! So we should be getting that in a few weeks. I know this is going to make life a little easier. So just wanted everyone to know this. We are so thankful for GSH and how much it has helped our son. I can't imagine where we would be without it! Thanks for reading!

I also wanted to add this to the update:
It took me some time to get the nerve up to try GSH. It is one thing to try new things on yourself but its a whole different story when it's your child. I was so nervous when we first used it but I knew we had to give it a try. I am not the type who would usually give something to my child without the doctors 100% totally giving me their support. But I realized that with cf I had to break out of my comfort zone and go with what I felt in my heart was the right thing to do. After talking and emailing Hope and Dr. Bishop I felt ready to give my son his first dose of GSH. I knew he was improving everyday just by observing how he can run & play without coughing, he can now wake up in the mornings without coughing and wheezing and needing a treatment first thing. All of this and I was also able to get him off pulmozyme which I never saw any real improvement from anyway (I am not saying that it dosen't help some people). But yesterday when I got confirmation from the clinic that he has indeed improved I was so happy! I am curious to find out next week what his cultures look like and also to find out the results of his blood work. Hopefully everything will look good.
