My son had a CF check-up yesterday and the doctor wrote a prescription for Trikafta. I have no intention of getting the prescription filled until I can do some research. From what little research I have done, it can have some serious adverse side effects (which is true for almost any medication). So, what I would really like to know is what percentage of patients in the clinical trials experienced side effects. Is there any way to find that information? My son is 21 years old and now goes to the adult clinic, so I let him go to his CF check-ups by himself. Had I been there, I doubt the doctor would have answered my questions about Trikafta anyway. Instead, I probably would have gotten yet another lecture on GSH, "which has no studies on the long term side effects, blah, blah, blah..." Rrrr! My son has been on GSH since he was 5 and he does far better than all their other patients. Those doctors just don't get it and I'm afraid they never will. At any rate, any help with finding some statistics on Trikafta would be greatly appreciated. Julie |
