I was on the accident investigation team and was in the hospital with Don Repo the night of the accident. His Daughter Donna was there and the poor captain Loft's wife was down stairs when I came in to the hospital. I was supposed to be with the captain in case he said anything that might shed some light on what happened. I remember I had gone to bed or was sleeping and they called me and told me to go to the Hialeah Hospital and be with the pilots when they come to. It was thought they were all alive. When I got to the hospital they told me Capt Loft was in pre op and pretty bad off. I stopped by the waiting room looking for other Eastern People and as I remember Mrs. Loft was there with someone. I did not talk to her she was talking to someone. I asked where the pre op room was and found my way to the room. The press was down stairs and a few were being escorted from the upper floors. My identification and pre warned personnel got me to the pre op room where I was lead into to see Capt Loft who was being worked on by several people. When I looked at him on the table it was not Capt Loft but the Flight Engineer Don Repo. Don and had flown many trips together and if fact he saved my life and all the others when I was a very new copilot. -George McCament
