There are a couple of reasons I like to do it. First, I find that the appearance of the line with the album title is more balanced if there's text at the start and end rather than just text followed by the year. The second is that I find it really interesting to see which groups could stay with one or two labels in their careers, as opposed to those whose careers forced them to jump from label to label.
