Even when I used the hex scale I translate from the 15 point scale to get there.

I think of an album as either a high 12 or a low 12 instead of a Hex B or Hex C

Then again I also think of an album as a high 13 or low 13 as well and more often then I do with a 12 or 11. Why didn't John Mc split the 13 instead of splitting the 11? does anyone care whether the album is a hex 9 or hex A?

Yes it's sad that the 15 point scale is dead
