John, do you have any plans to review the 4 CD box set documenting Sly & Co. at the Fillmore East in 1968, released this July? I haven't heard the full set myself, but I was lucky enough to find a copy of the Record Store Day vinyl edition (a "best of" of sorts, containing 11 tracks) last week, and it's one of the most ridiculously and radiantly joyous things I've ever heard. "Love City" is extended to nine minutes - and it's worth every second; there is also a five-minute really ferocious runthrough of "M'Lady" and a "Dance to the Music/Music Lover" medley that is just nuts. Not to forget that both Sly and Rose are on fire, and Greg Errico is an absolute beast (just imagine Charlie Watts deciding he wants to be Keith Moon). I have no idea how the full set compares, but I reckon there might be quite a few more highlights - you might want to check it out!
