The good old "adequacy" criterion that seems to hint what would potentially get a worst rating

I think that means George Harrison Electronic Sound wouldn't count as it has no pretension either. It's just one guy dicking around with a synthesiser and recording it at the same time. Releasing it as some ultra rare record not really meant for mass consumption. There is no pretension in Electronic Sound either

I suspect the only album I can think of awful pretentious music by a major artist would be John Lennon/Yoko Ono Avantgarde albums. stuff like two virgins and wedding album. It's clear it is some sort of naively sincere artistic statement. Unfortunately John Mc copped out by not reviewing those album
