I hesitate to get into any of Waters' other albums post "The Final Cut" if his works have devolved this way. I thought "TFC" did a good job of focusing his dark outlook on the world into some concise and intriguing songs, but without anyone around him like his former bandmates to push back, he seems to want to spew anger and vitriol around aimlessly and call it meaningful music, and has a hard time focusing on specific pieces of it enough to make a complete album that works effectively as a whole. It's disappointing, esp. when compared with some of Gilmour's later works. I wonder if Waters ever really got a shrink post-The Wall to help him sort out his problems?
