I've heard this before, but I don't really agree with this. While all S&G albums have standout songs clearly superior to the surrounding material, SOS and PSRM were the go-to CD's my father and I would listen to whenever we went driving. All the songs that aren't standouts are for the most part very pleasant folk music. I think if you have an affinity for various types of American and British folk music, then SoS is a perfectly agreeable album with only one bad song (Blessed), and easily worth a D. I think this also demonstrates how ratings are very subjective. If, like me, you consider Scarborough Fair one of the most beautiful songs of all time, then finding PSRM to be an uneven record because of a few short experiments or one or two nice, but bland folk songs, should still make the album about a C.
