Yeah, this podcast is totally making me want to talk or write about albums much more lately. Only 5 months after I stopped doing MJA in February 2005, I started doing open mics and going to local Philly area shows with other musicians, especially getting into it when I started recording and archiving them in 2008, so I haven’t really had a true “continuation” of my WRC days as a writer in the last 14 years. As awesome as my offline musician friends are, none of them seem anywhere near as enthusiastic with talking and/or writing about albums as the old WRC people except Casey Brennan, and he’s had a ton of mental health issues this decade (although he has been getting better recently). This all probably accounts for a lot of my Facebook and social media frustration in recent years.
