Well, its a new year, at the end of the old year, we gone over 3,000 deaths of our military.
May God grant them eternal peace, we pray.
Just like Vietnam, I wanted to scream or cry on the insanity of it all.
We can't settle our differences at the end of a rifle or any other weapon.
We seek a military solution to a political problem for a lack of a better word.
WHO SPEAKS FOR THE DEAD?
I wrote a poem way back, recently I tweak it a bit.
Here how it now stands; WHO SPEAKS FOR THE DEAD?
I been to a "WALL" were my image was reflected;
From the names of those, who went to fate.
At the Nation bidding, they went to their fate.
In place of those that had an excuse from their fate.
So who speaks for the DEAD at this late date?
No one, as most want to forgive and forget
If we did that, we would always be in their debt.
And we must never FORGET.
Till the day they tells us we paid the DEBT.
Many or some FORGET the lessons of war that were learned by the generation before them.
Thus insuring that more will write poems or stories on the insanity, we name war.
Some might say, "Ricardo, we're fighting a defensive war!"
Yes, on the war on terrorism,
A big NO on the war with Iraq, it was a preempt war.
We won the war, but we're losing men and women in trying to rebuild Iraq.
That's not even speaking about all the money and equipment that its costing us.
Some are looking to this year as being "Gloom and Doom", we pray that not the case.
With that said, we wish you the happiest and healthiest new year.
How wonder familiar is a fool!

"A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living. Today's military rejects include tomorrow's hard-core unemployed."

To a Marine
Honor is loyalty and dedication to God,
Country, Corps, Family, and Self.
You can take the man/woman out of the Corps,
But you can't take the Corps out of the man/woman!
TO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES'
AND THOSE WHO SERVED BEFORE,
THAT OTHERS MAY SAY PROUDLY
I AM A MARINE!
