On the 18th or 19th October 1967, forty years back, I was in hell with the rest of my company Golf Company 2nd Battalion 1st Marines. Next I would like to touch on Breast and Prostate Cancer. BREAST CANCER PROSTATE CANCER With that I will close for now. Semper Fi (Always Faithful)
On that day, we were ambushed and many fine Marines were either dead or wounded on Operation Medina.
I seem to recall that the group I was assisting, made four trips, we had to get the most serious wounded out first than our dead.
For a long time, I tried drowning these memories or thoughts by drinking more than I should have.
Finally I went through 'talk therapy' to work my way out the darkness.
A member of Hotel Company 2nd Battalion 1st Marines has wrote a web page to describe events of that day better than any efforts of mine.
Events that happened on 18 October 1967
For some reason, the 19th October 1967 sticks in my mind.
Could it had been the 18th?
Well so many years removed, can fault one's memory for a small error.
They can effect anybody from rich to poor, the educated and those with limited education.
