Twenty days from now will be Christmas Eve and seven days later, we will usher in a new year. "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." To a Marine When a member of the military died, he took another piece of America with him. TO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES' Semper Fidelis
Much has taken place, we have a new president, and a new congress.
I think too much is expected, like change will come whenever we want change.
What took eight years in the making, just can't be changed overnight.
Is it time that we think about ending our present in the Middle East?
We should make it plain, that another attack on us here at home, will be met with whatever force is needed.
But that doesn't mean, that we should just go off on an preempt war.
All these multiple deployments are taking a toll on this all volunteer military.
If we again think about two wars at the same time, than I suggest that we best start thinking about a DRAFT.
Without any loop-holes to avoid serving, if not able or want to serve in the military, than some kind alternative service should take it place with an extra year.
Well so much for that.
From me to you;
The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:
The presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.
May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!
Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
For loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
Like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself...
Remember
This December,
That love weighs more than gold!
Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.
Keep your Christmas-heart open all the year round.
Sing hey! Sing hey!
For Christmas Day;
Twine mistletoe and holly.
For a friendship glows
In winter snows,
And so let's all be jolly!
At Christmas play and make good cheer,
For Christmas comes but once a year
May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace,
The gladness of Christmas give you hope,
The warmth of Christmas grant you love.
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Wouldn't life be worth the living
Wouldn't dreams be coming true
If we kept the Christmas spirit
All the whole year through?
With that said;
See you all NEXT YEAR, if we're lucky
--American author Mark Twain (1835-1910)
Honor is loyalty and dedication to God,
Country, Corps, Family, and Self.
How many more pieces can we lose before we become totally lost ourselves?
- John Cory
AND THOSE WHO SERVED BEFORE,
THAT OTHERS MAY SAY PROUDLY
I AM A MARINE!
