I am glad that you have been able to locate textual information, which is f a direct interrest to you. I whish the entire subject was not based in war though. But since mankind has been as it has been, all since its birth, then....
For my own part, I am looking through records for F-company of 2/5th Marines, for June 1967. F-company was however "opcon" to 1/5th Marines during 1-4 of June 1967, so in order to locate what I whish to read, I in this case have to check the records for 1/5th Marines instead. I am homing in on F-companys actions between 1-3rd June, and especially the day of the 2nd of June. That is when LCpl Arthur Malcolm Byrd was KIA, together with so many of his Marine Brothers of F-company. Have not gotten so far yet in the AAR. But what I whish to do when reading, is to "follow" the company by the grid-coordinates given on the AAR, on 1:50,000 maps I have saved on my computer. By doing so while reading, it is (for me personally) easier to "get an image" so to say, of the day. Not detail of course, but in a "historical overview"-way so to say, if you understand what I mean. I have a need to have an image-picture in my head also, in some cases, for some things. In this case, the image will be by "map" in my head. Despite having a well developed digit/code-memory, I for some reason yet use "image"-related memory, by "movement-pattern" when it for example comes to punch digits on for example ATM-macines when I draw cash from my card in such machines. Why this is I am a bit puzzled ifor, since I after all do have a well developed digit/code-memory. I should not be using "image with movement-pattern" in my head at for example the ATM-machines. But I automaticly do. Rather strangely "wired in the head" I am in some cases....
Anyway, to stop my above ramble.... Again, I am glad that you found the link to be of both interrest aswell as use.
T G C!
Sincerely
A.B
