Today being 'Labor Day' in the USA?
Being a journeyman in the welding trade.
We used to work in a department titled Fab & Reclaim.
that stood Fabrications and Reclaimination, we make some new for other departments of our steel making company or other customers from different companies.
We also reclaimed existing fabrications or we would bring back to certain specifications.
Now, my old steel making company is part of a global steel making industry headquarters in Europe.
The owner is a native of India.
The sole surviving steel mill in northwest Indiana is US Steel.
He brought, Inland Steel (my old company), Youngstown Sheet & Tube, and Bethlehem Steel in Indiana and Ohio.
Great for global industry not so for the home grown steel industries of the USA.
