(Note by A.B:
Regarding sub-numbering of 1:50.000-scale maps...
For those whom do not know, since the posted mapsheet does not state "sub-mapnumber" per each 4-map group.
Each mapgroup, for example "6630", holds 4 submaps. These are "6630-1", "6630-2", "6630-3" and "6630-4".
Order they are placed as, always starts with the "-1" being the one in the upper right quarter-grid. Numbering then goes "clockwise" from there, ending with "-4" being the one in the upper left quarter.
Just felt I should explain this detail, ((since not everyone is the "die hard geo-buff and map-geek that I am)) as/since the earlier posted mapsheet does not state the "sub-mapnumbers" on the actual mapsheet, only the 4-digit group-number.
End note by A.B).
Online available topographical maps of SEA (public online access is free, and No cost/fee/membership or such is needed!)...
Texas Tech University "The Vietnam Center and Archive" -map collection searchpage:
http://www.virtualarchive.vietnam.ttu.edu/starweb/virtual/maps/servlet.starweb?path=virtual/maps/maps_new.web
Note: Maps in above site, are quite large in both byte-size, aswell as "on the screen". They may therefor take a little time to open on screen. But quality makes the waitingtime indeed well worth it.
How to get dessired map displayed....:
-Enter map-number / map-ID in field "Map Number" (for example: 6630-4, which is the 1:50.000-scale topo-map for "Phan Thiet", then click "start search" in left side menu "Search Controles".
-Then on opening page, click on "Display Search Results".
-Click on map-version of dessired choice, below thumb-image of map.
Just wanted to share! T G C! (Take Good Care!)
