Heading first to Okinawa, than to Vietnam.
When my Recon platoon left K-Bay Hawaii, I was member of that Recon platoon.
On arriving on Okinawa, a lot of the infantry companies in the 3rd Battalion 4th Marines.
Found that they were short of non-commissioned-officers (nco) or NCO.
I next found myself a member of India Company 3rd Battalion 4th Marines.
At the later part of March or early April, we went by a Naval landing ship, up the Perfume river.
To the city of Hue, we were than transported to a small airstrip in Phu Bai.
That little airstrip, would later become a large Marine Corp base.
Now after the war, the Vietnamese have made it a large international air port.
On this tour, I came close to getting killed.
All I heard was a loud crack, past my head.
I got down and started returning fire.
Next I get an order to cease firing.
They also asked if I had a target.
I didn't have one but I was giving back.
What was given to me.
Now all we have are memories, some good and some BAD.
