From the above we could ask why. If a man is your friend, his passing will leave a void. Could this be an answer to our grief? ************************************************** My dear friend and fellow Marine, your passing has left a void in my soul. ************************************************** Man is not only a body... ************************************************** The year's at the spring Robert Browning ************************************************** Psalms 138:6-7 ************************************************** 1 Peter 5:5-7 ************************************************** Semper Fidelis
All out of breath, his cherubic face distorted.
" Mr.Lee, Mr. Lee!"
"Well"
Gunny Foster, Gunny Foster!"
"What about him?"
"Gunny Foster's killed!"
"So what?"
"Sir?"
Lee turned on him and yelled.
"So what! Get back to your position!"
PFC Knott looked at the lieutenant strangely and backed away.
Lee: "I tried to brush it off,
You see so many Marines had been killed by that time.
How can you allow yourself to mourn for one man more than another?"
"We can't mourn more for one man than another?"
We do mourn the passing of our "Brother" Sgt. George "Nomad" H. Morrow.
But we also mourn for many, because their passing has left a void that will be hard to fill.
My life is diminished by each Marine's passing.
It sad that we won't see that name on this message board.
But we do cherish the posts that he placed here.
But it also has given me time to seek words of comfort.
May they restored my soul.
There is in the body a spirit,
and as such,it is immortal.
There is an abyss between body and soul;
they are two entities very diverse yet are as one.
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn:
God's in his heaven--
All's right with the world.
Though the LORD is on high,
he looks upon the lowly,
but the proud he knows from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life;
you stretch out your hand
against the anger of my foes,
with your right hand you save me.
Young men, in the same way
be submissive to those who are older.
All of you, clothe yourselves
with humility toward one another, because,
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Humble yourselves,
therefore, under God's mighty hand,
that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
