Oh heavenly Father, Rest In Peace Roy,
Saturday a dear friend died, his name was Roy Smith a US Army veteran of Vietnam.
He was a cannon cocker, his tour of duty was in 1969.
He was in 155mm and 8 inches Arty battaries.
You might ask me; Ricardo who was Roy Smith?
Real a no body, a janitor, and a friend of my daughter.
Once while taking her to work, we got talking about Vietnam.
It was than that I found out that he had served there.
He mention that he had spent sometime up north.
That meant that his battary might have fired missions for the Marine Corps.
I took the liberty to change some wording on the Marine Prayer to make it a prayer for a Vietnam Veteran.
A Vietnam Veteran died Saturday and the world hardly noticed.
Only relatives and friends will shed some tears for Roy Smith veteran of the Vietnam War.
A Vietnam Veteran named died today
A Vietnam Veteran brother died today.
There will be no parades or fanfares.
No official Flags will fly at half mast
and only tears from a select few will fall.
Take his hand Lord and lead this Vietnam Veteran home.
Our Vietnam Veteran brother Roy Smith died today Oh, Lord.
Please help his heart to rest and allow his body to be at ease.
Please allow his family to accept your will with Peace.
Good Bye and God Bless, Vietnam Veteran Roy Smith.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
We'll miss you, but we were richer for having known you.
Semper Fidelis
Ricardo
