I just watched a show on Labor Day foods, and they showed a 'French Onion Soup Burger.' There was some Lipton onion soup mix in the meat, cheese melted over the top, and some onions on top which had been cooked slowly to caramelize them.
But, what came out of it, were people's preferences of cheeses.
What are your favorite cheeses, and if you were making a burger with cheese on it, which would you want on it?
I think that which cheese I like, has depended on what it's for.
There's good old American, of course, sharp cheddar, Jack, parmesan, mozzarella, and my Dfil used to go to where they made cheese in Wisconsin, and send us a mixed box for Christmas. The muenster was amazing. I'd actually never had it until then.
Some of those I'd eat out of hand, some would go in a grilled cheese, on a sandwich, in mac 'n cheese, quesadilla, in a lasagna, etc.
Growing up, we had American, Jack, parmesan, and cheddar.
What I don't care for, and I know a couple of people here do, and my grandmother did, are blue cheese and it's ilk. I can't eat it anyway, since a lot contain gluten, but I didn't eat them when I could.
How about you?
